Clinician scientists are released from clinical duties to participate in research project B7 for periods of 12 months. During this time, they are expected to collect data for one scientific publication that supports their Habilitation plans. In parallel, they strengthen their research competence by a compulsory participation in the qualification programme (as outlined under “doctorates in natural sciences”) for their individual time frame, which has to include training in the rules of good scientific practice. By the end of their research period, they may opt for a continued participation as a training member in the qualification programme and/or as a lecturer of the clinical visits for a total of up to 3 years.
