HIV subtype panel

The Institute of Clinical and Molecular Virology offers for research purposes an HIV-1 subtype panel including 17 group M isolates (2x A, 2x B, 2x C, 3x D, 1x CRF01_AE, 2x F, 1x G, 1xG/H, 1x H, 2x CRF02_AG) as well as two group O isolates and one group N isolate. For more detailed information regarding characterization please refer to the document "HIV-1 subtype panel".
Virus isolates were originally obtained from the NIH AIDS Research and Reference Reagent Program, USA, or from the Programme EVA Centre for AIDS Reagents, NIBSC, UK. These viruses were cultivated on cells, inactivated by heating and supernatants were diluted in HIV-negative plasma to a concentration of about 100,000 HIV-1 RNA copies/ml. 
Precise concentrations (HIV-1 RNA copies/ml) are provided with delivery.

Furthermore, the Institute of Clinical and Molecular Virology offers for research purposes an HIV-2 panel including eight heat-inactivated HIV-2 isolates. More detailed information can be found in the document "HIV-2 panel".
