50 years of Virology: A scientific symposium in honor of Bernhard Fleckenstein

This scientific symposium is held in honor of Prof. Bernhard Fleckenstein, who passed away on 4 May 2021. It will commemorate his achievements, and accentuate the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Clinical and Molecular Virology, which was founded by Prof. Harald zur Hausen in 1972 and chaired by Prof. Fleckenstein from 1978 until 2015.

Renowned virologists from Germany and abroad who have collaborated with the Institute of Virology Erlangen have been invited as speakers. The symposium will summarize the developments and highlight current topics in Virology.

Participation in the symposium will be free of charge for all participants.

A free lunch will be offered for all participants at the symposium venue. If you want to have lunch, please mark this in the online registration.

After the end of the scientific program, a Get Together will take place for all participants at the „Entla‘s Keller“ (open air beer garden).
